AIS Network

In 2010-2011 State Hydrographic Service of Ukraine has placed into operation an automatic system for navigational conditions monitoring in Ukrainian waters using the shore-based stations of Automatic Identification System (AIS) in order to meet the following challenges:

  • to raise a level of navigational safety and to protect the environment in the coastal waters of Ukraine;
  • to provide mariners, interested bodies, authorities, organizations responsible for special activities in the sea with up-to-date information about navigational circumstances in the costal zone;
  • to improve an effectiveness of the search and rescue service in the sea in Ukrainian SAR area;
  • to establish an integrated national system for collecting, processing and transmitting of AIS data;
  • to fulfill recommendations of international competent organizations with regard to fitting the coastline with present-day aids to navigation.


From December 2011 you have the opportunity to obtain the information about current location of vessels in Ukrainian coastal waters.





The sea ports of Kerch, Sevastopol, Feodosiia, Yalta, Yevpatoriia are closed until the restoration of the constitutional order of Ukraine within the territory of the Autonomous Republic of Crimea and the city of Sevastopol that are temporarily occupied by the Russian Federation (in accordance with the Order of the Ministry of Infrastructure of Ukraine on June 16, 2014, No. 255).
